Fashion Graduate Italia 2022: Young Italian Designers Present Sustainable Innovation
The eighth edition of Fashion Graduate Italia concluded at Base Milano from November 3 to 5, 2022, showcasing the best of Italian fashion schools. Promoted by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS, the event featured runway shows, exhibitions, talks, and workshops focused on sustainable innovation. Among the participating schools, NABA, Accademia della Moda, IED, and IUAD (with campuses in Milan and Naples) presented standout collections. IUAD's BODY-ISM collection explored bodily freedom and vulnerability. Alessia Venturelli's Fashion Anatomy featured puffy couture with kaleidoscopic prints and sculptural forms. Mirko Cavaliere (Accademia della Moda) used neoprene and technical materials for an amphibian-inspired aesthetic. Giordana Bellucci (Accademia della Moda) presented 'Noi Loro Gli Altri,' contrasting Web3 users with youth constrained by their origins. Emanuele D'Alessandro (NABA) promoted hope through genderless clothing. Riccardo Meazza (IUAD) channeled rage in his Berserkir Collection, inspired by Viking iconography and made from leather scraps. Other schools included Istituto Marangoni, AFOL Moda, and Istituto Modartech. The initiative aims to align education with market needs while respecting Italian cultural and industrial heritage.
