Fashion Film Festival Milano 2021 Goes Digital with CNMI Partnership
The Fashion Film Festival Milano, founded in 2014 by Costanza Cavalli Etro, returns for its seventh edition from January 13 to 18, 2021, coinciding with Milan Fashion Week Men's. The festival has partnered with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) for the first time. Due to the pandemic, all screenings have moved online across three platforms: CNMI's dedicated site, the festival's official site, and MyMovies.it. The official competition features 200 fashion films selected from over 1,000 submissions from 60 countries including Iceland, India, Brazil, China, Vietnam, and Mexico. Out-of-competition content includes a daily 'The World of Italian Fashion Films' section, six Conversations with notable figures, five feature film premieres, and two thematic strands: #FFFMilanoForGreen and #FFFMilanoForWomen. The festival aims to elevate Milan's fashion industry beyond superficiality by addressing contemporary issues such as environment, production relocation, cultural relations, diversity, and inclusivity through cinematic and audiovisual narratives.
