Fashion critic Angelo Flaccavento debuts as artist with 'Le avventure di Ubi M.'

Angelo Flaccavento, a prominent fashion critic and columnist for The Business of Fashion, Il Sole 24 Ore, and D, is presenting his debut art project 'Le avventure di Ubi M.' at Marsèll Paradise in Milan from March 21 to 31, 2022. The exhibition features drawings and miniatures that narrate the burlesque adventures of Ubi M., a phallic protagonist described by Flaccavento as 'porn for children' and created through automatic drawing techniques using sumi ink, Ecoline, oil pastel, and drypoint on cotton paper. The work draws inspiration from Alfred Jarry's Ubu cycle and medieval marginalia, reflecting Flaccavento's long-standing practice under the pseudonym poeticallypunk, which intensified during the pandemic. The exhibition is curated by Alessio de' Navasques.
