Fargo 2026: Goiânia's Art Fair Doubles in Size as Cerrado Ecosystem Expands
The eighth edition of Feira de Arte Goiás – Fargo, established by Wanessa Cruz in 2017, is scheduled to take place from May 13 to 17, 2026, at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea in Goiânia. This year, the fair has grown to feature around 50 galleries, with new local entrants such as Cerrado Galeria, which opened in 2023. Only 14 of these galleries are from outside the Central-West region. Prominent participants include Luciana Brito and Marília Razuk. Critic Divino Sobral pointed out the influence of agribusiness on the local art market. Cerrado Galeria will display works by artists Abraão Veloso and Rebeca Miguel. Collector Fernando Bueno considers Fargo and Arte.PE essential for emerging artists. The Bienal de Goiânia is set to return in 2027 after a long absence since the 1970s.
