Fanzine Tech Gleba and Barber Shop Exhibitions in Rome

publication · 2026-05-04

A group of young artists and curators in Rome—Vasco Forconi, Niccolò De Napoli, Andrea Polichetti, and Silvio Saccà—have launched a fanzine titled Tech Gleba and a series of exhibitions called Senza appuntamento at a barber shop owned by Franco Candela at Corso Vittorio Emanuele 122. The fanzine, presented at the space Una Vetrina, includes a theoretical text by Laura Amann and a conversation with Candela. The project, which began in February, aims to animate the neighborhood and foster collaboration with galleries like Monitor and spaces like Una Vetrina. The second exhibition featured works by Michele Gabriele, Emiliano Maggi, Andrea Martinucci, Caterina Morigi, and Lorenzo Pace. The group emphasizes horizontality and non-competitiveness, distinguishing themselves from traditional collectives. They seek to reclaim urban spaces for art, responding to the lack of artist-run spaces in Rome. Future plans include a third exhibition and a fourth fanzine issue, with the goal of compiling all editions into a series.
