Fanta Spazio Opens in Milan with Wynne Greenwood's Tracy + the Plastics
Fanta Spazio, a new independent art space in Milan, opened with the first Italian presentation of Wynne Greenwood's archive of Tracy + the Plastics, a band she founded in 1999 where she performed all three members: Tracy, Nikki, and Cola. The exhibition runs until May 29, 2016. Founded by Alessio Baldissera, Gloria de Risi, and Alberto Zenere, the space is located in a former warehouse at Via Merano 21, chosen for its character and street-level accessibility. The founders, who discovered Greenwood's work during a trip to New York, highlight the project's pre-digital origins and its exploration of self-portraiture and internal contradictions. Fanta Spazio opens only on weekends due to the founders' other jobs, a constraint that has become a distinctive feature, turning the space into a gathering place. Upcoming projects include works by Roberto Fassone and a solo show by Alessandro Agudio. The space aims to create a coherent program and foster dialogue between different positions and audiences.
