Fanny Ardant and Mira Sorvino at Rome Film Fest

The 14th Rome Film Festival (Festa del Cinema di Roma) featured Fanny Ardant as the standout female star on its fourth day. Ardant, who expressed gratitude to Italians for teaching her irony and life wisdom, attended for an 'Incontri Ravvicinati' event and to present the film 'La Belle Époque,' releasing in Italian theaters on November 7 via I Wonder Pictures. She reflected on her career, citing Truffaut's 'La signora della porta accanto' as the film she would relive, and discussed her love-hate relationship with theater. The film 'La Belle Époque,' directed by an unnamed filmmaker, stars Daniel Auteuil, Fanny Ardant, Pierre Arditi, Guillaume Canet, and Doria Tillier. It follows Victor, a man who relives his best day in 1974 through cinematic sets. Also present was Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino, one of the first to accuse Harvey Weinstein of abuse. She attended to support 'Drowning,' a film written, directed, and starring Melora Walters, in its world premiere at the festival. Sorvino spoke about the #MeToo movement and her role as a bookstore owner in the film, which explores a mother's grief over her soldier son in Iraq.
