Family Stereo's Debut Album 'The Thread' Drops July 31
Blake Watt, the 25-year-old son of Everything But The Girl's Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, will release his debut album 'The Thread' under the moniker Family Stereo on July 31 via Bella Union. Recorded over nine months in Sam Hodder-Williams' north London studio, the album features folk arrangements with strings, banjo, and xylophone. New single 'DLR' includes a music video where Watt is kidnapped. Watt, a former drummer who started songwriting at 15, cites influences Elliott Smith, John Martyn, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Adrianne Lenker. His earlier tracks 'Early Promise' surpassed 215,000 Spotify streams. He has performed at Kendal Calling, Windmill, Lexington, and Moth Club (2025 with Everything But The Girl). John Kennedy of Radio X has supported his work.
