Fall 2026 Texas Museum Exhibitions: From Lowriders to Curtis
In fall 2026, various museums across East and South Texas are set to unveil new exhibitions. The Longview Museum of Fine Arts debuted 'Conversations Through Collage' by Brenda Bogart and 'Cosmic Comix' by Lee Baxter Davis on August 7, with displays available until December 12. On August 8, the Rockport Center for the Arts launched 'Material Conversations: Woven in Place' by Doerte Weber, which will be on view until September 27. Upcoming exhibits include Peter Mangan's 'Illuminating Nature' (September 4–November 22) and Ian Manseau's 'Residue' (September 5–November 8). The International Museum of Art and Science will present 'Lowrider Culture in the United States' starting August 22, lasting until November 15. The Tyler Museum of Art features 'Dwelling: No Place Like Home' from August 21 to November 29. On August 25, Stephen F. Austin State University galleries will open three exhibitions, followed by 'Ginger Gore Russel: In/HER/itance' (October 20–November 7) and 'Gary Parker: Pluralisms' (November 19–January 31, 2027). The Art Museum of South Texas will showcase 'Edward S. Curtis: Photographs from The Wittliff Collections' from September 10 to December 13. The Harlingen Arts & Heritage Museum will honor Dia de los Muertos from September 15 to November 14, while the Art Museum of Southeast Texas will present 'Delilah Montoya: Activating Chicana Resistance' on October 9.
