FADD Architects: Napoli's design duo on creativity, Aria's Michelin star, and their New York skyscraper dream

FADD Architects, a Naples-based studio founded in 2016 by Marco Acri, Antonio Di Foggia, and Fabrizio Fasolino, discusses their design philosophy and the city's creative renaissance. The firm, which began collaborating in 2007, focuses on interior projects including private homes, restaurants, and sushi bars in Portici, Naples, and Sorrento. They cite filmmakers Wes Anderson and Paolo Sorrentino as inspirations. Their restaurant Aria in central Naples, housed in a late 19th/early 20th-century building, recently earned its first Michelin star under chef Paolo Barrale. The interior features custom-made elements like a six-meter-high bar with mirrored ceiling, dark walnut wood, and oak parquet flooring with a yellow-green inset. FADD uses Instagram (over 11,000 followers) as a key communication tool. Their ultimate ambition is to design a skyscraper in New York with David Chipperfield.
