Fabulatorio Publishes ABC Seoane Book on Galician Designer Luis Seoane
Fabulatorio, established by Piu Martinez, Cibrán Rico, and Suso Vázquez, is set to release a book focused on Galician designer Luis Seoane. Titled ABC Seoane, this publication is a collaboration with the Luis Seoane Foundation, aiming to introduce Seoane's design legacy to younger audiences. A multifaceted talent, Seoane was an art theorist, designer, illustrator, painter, engraver, muralist, publisher, writer, and journalist, playing a pivotal role in the Spanish artistic avant-garde. He passed away on April 5, 1979, in A Coruña, Galicia. After fleeing to Argentina in 1936 due to Franco's coup, he returned intermittently in the mid-1960s. He partnered with Isaac Díaz Pardo to revitalize the Sargadelos Ceramics Factory and founded the Carlos Maside Museum in 1970. His contributions include book cover art for Botella al mar, Sargadelos ceramics, and typefaces. The ABC Seoane book is crafted as an alphabet book to bring his graphic art into homes, schools, and libraries worldwide, emphasizing his use of the Galician language. Martinez highlights that Seoane's impact on Galician visual identity remains largely unrecognized in the U.S. artistic landscape.
