Fabrizio Prevedello's 'Distanza' Opens at Z2o Sara Zanin in Rome

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Fabrizio Prevedello (born 1972 in Padua) presents his solo exhibition 'Distanza' at Z2o Sara Zanin in Rome, curated by Gabriele Tosi. The show features ten installation works exploring themes of passage, pause, transience, residue, and reuse, centered on the concept of 'impermanence.' Prevedello's pieces incorporate industrial materials such as cement, bare or galvanized steel, and glass, along with fragments of pink Portuguese marble, black Belgian marble, green Guatemalan or Alpine marble hidden under plaster casts treated with floor-leveling techniques. The works evoke anarchitectural forms and a neo-brutalist furor, referencing Hegel's idea of creativity as a break from rules. The exhibition is contextualized within recent Roman art shows, including Renato Calaj's 'Transeunte' (2024), Jonathan Vivacqua's 'Petrolio' (2024), and the group show 'Displacement' (2022), all supervised by gallerist Giacomo Guidi, who also anticipated Bartolini's hyper-geometric tube installations at the Italian Pavilion of the last Venice Biennale.
