Fabrizio Dusi's Crowds Take Over BPER Bank in Milan

La Galleria BPER has opened its first Milanese exhibition at Banca Cesare Ponti, a historic bank overlooking Piazza del Duomo recently acquired by the BPER Group. Curated by Giorgia Ligasacchi, the show features artist Fabrizio Dusi (born 1974 in Sondrio) and his signature crowds of figures with open mouths and no ears, highlighting a lack of communication. The exhibition, titled "All that glitters is not gold" after a Shakespearean quote from The Merchant of Venice, includes a golden neon work from 2023 placed near the entrance. Works on display include acrylic and enamel paintings on thermal blankets (Folle, 2023) that reflect the cityscape, as well as ceramic pieces such as Bla Bla Bla (2023) and Classic Family (2023). One ceramic group, Classic Family for La Galleria BPER (2023), uses the corporate colors of Banca Ponti (blue) and BPER (green) to symbolize the merger of the two banks. Dusi describes his figures as avatars of common people, inspired by street art and influenced by Keith Haring and Jean Dubuffet. The exhibition aims to engage passersby, with many works visible from the street, and runs at Banca Cesare Ponti in Milan.
