Fabrica Hosts 'Alta Sovversione' with 50+ International Guests

From March 23 to 25, 2018, Fabrica, Benetton's communication research center in Villorba, Treviso, will host 'Alta Sovversione,' a three-day event exploring subversion across art, design, cinema, advertising, food, politics, economics, architecture, and media. Over 50 international speakers include British photographer Alison Jackson, known for her staged images of celebrities and world leaders using look-alikes; British artist-activist Liv Wynter, who renounced a residency at Tate on March 8, 2018, to protest inequality; Cameron Sinclair, Airbnb's head of social innovation; Marco Cappato, a Radical Party member who self-reported for assisting Dj Fabo's assisted suicide in Switzerland; and filmmaker Jerome Clement Wilz, presenting 'Horse Being,' a documentary about a transgender woman who wants to become a horse. The event aims to redefine subversion as a catalyst for change and innovation, drawing parallels to MIT's $250,000 Disobedience Award for civil disobedience, awarded in 2017 to scientists Mona Hanna-Attisha and Marc Edwards for exposing Flint's water crisis. 'Alta Sovversione' is part of Fabrica Circus, a series on modern communication and cultural experimentation.
