Fabric(ated) Fractures: South and Southeast Asian Artists Question Borders

exhibition · 2026-04-22

The exhibition 'Fabric(ated) Fractures' showcased 15 artists from South Asia and Southeast Asia at Concrete, Alserkal Avenue in Dubai, aiming to explore the concepts of geographical borders and spaces. Curated by Diana Campbell Betancourt, the chief curator of the Dhaka Art Summit, the exhibition sought to challenge prevailing narratives both regionally and globally. Among the featured works, artist and photographer Pablo Bartholomew highlighted a cross-border initiative centered on an indigenous community spanning India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. The exhibition was made possible through collaboration with Alserkal Avenue by Nadia Samdani, director of the Dhaka Art Summit and co-founder of the Samdani Art Foundation. It remained open until 30 March.
