Fabio Viale's exhibition at Galleria Poggiali in Florence centers on the bricole, wooden poles used as navigation markers in the Venetian Lagoon. Viale, born in Cuneo in 1976, carves marble to mimic the wood's fragility, grain, and imperfections, creating an optical illusion that highlights the vulnerability of Venice's historical and natural environment to acqua alta and climate change.
