Fabio Troisi appointed director of Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw

Fabio Troisi, former cultural attaché at the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in New York and director of IIC Pretoria, has been appointed director of IIC Warsaw. In an interview, Troisi outlines his vision for promoting Italian culture in Poland, emphasizing exchange and collaboration with the local art scene. He notes Poland's vibrant contemporary art landscape, including a new fair for local galleries, and highlights the high level of Italian studies in the country. Troisi plans to upgrade IIC Warsaw's spaces to museum standards for larger exhibitions, focus on contemporary art, and develop residency programs. He also mentions working on Arte Povera, which has deep roots in Poland since the 1970s and is linked to Polish experimental theatre according to Celant.
