Fabio Massimo Fioravanti's Nō Theatre Photography at L'Aquila 2026
On May 16, 2026, "Nanakorobi Yaoki: Cadere sette volte, rialzarsi l'ottava" opens at the Fondazione Giorgio de Marchis Bonanni d'Ocre in L'Aquila. This event features "Immaginare l'invisibile," the inaugural Nō theatre project by Fabio Massimo Fioravanti. As part of L'Aquila Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2026, it receives backing from the Comune dell'Aquila, the Embassy of Japan in Italy, and the Japan Foundation. The exhibition includes 100 photographs by Fioravanti, 40 ukiyo-e by Tsukioka Kogyo (making their debut in Italy), Nō masks by Keiko Udaka, and associated costumes. The program also features a lecture by Giorgio Amitrano and a shimai dance by Monique Arnaud, running until June 20, 2026, with free entry.
