Fabiano Lioi's 'O.I. L'arte in una frattura' Crowdfunds Art Book on Osteogenesis Imperfecta

Italian artist Fabiano Lioi, who has Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), launches a crowdfunding campaign on Produzioni dal Basso for his multidisciplinary project 'O.I. L'arte in una frattura'. The project includes a book and an exhibition featuring 21 works created on X-ray plates of his fractures, overlaid with artistic interventions and quotes. Lioi, also a musician with Mantic and a performer, previously staged inclusive public performances like 'Colorare per nascondere – Svelare per comunicare' (2018) with Arteprima and Francesco Cascino, and participated in the group show 'Divina Sproporzione' at Secondome gallery in Rome (2017), curated by Valentina Guidi Ottobri, with his work 'O.I. I GALEONI'. The book presents a polyphonic narrative about OI through testimonies from friends, acquaintances, and doctors, focusing on a protagonist named Kim rather than being autobiographical. Lioi prefers the term 'collector of human relationships', borrowed from Baroness Lucrezia De Domizio Durini, and emphasizes his autodidact background. The project aims to shift perspectives on OI through artistic storytelling.
