Fa Razavi's US Debut 'Opera Rose' at Palo Gallery

exhibition · 2026-04-23

Palo Gallery in New York is hosting the first solo exhibit in the U.S. for Iranian artist Fa Razavi, called 'Opera Rose.' Curated by Pia Zeitzen and Sasha Shevchenko from Kollektiv Collective, the showcase features a triptych and seven large oil paintings that delve into themes of revolution across different environments, including battlefields and homes, as well as Razavi's studio. Her art merges Renaissance luxury with Baroque intensity and draws from global female resistance. The central piece, 'Opera Rose,' portrays intersex individuals reaching out in empathy, with green symbolizing faith and rebellion. Additionally, 'The Last Train Home' honors Mahsa Amini's 2022 death, showing a woman dancing with a flag while partially obscuring a CCTV camera. A zine by Kollektiv Collective accompanies the exhibit.
