Medellín-based architecture and interiors studio F05, led by founder Felipe Mora, is gaining recognition for its contemporary tropical modernism, a style that combines lush landscapes with modern design. The studio's projects include La Causa, an 8,000-square-foot Nikkei restaurant in Llanogrande, and a 20,000-square-foot concrete home for a Porsche collector above Bogotá. Mora, who returned to Colombia in February 2020 after years in the U.S. and Italy, emphasizes a deep respect for historical work while pushing for innovation. F05's approach integrates biophilia and material authenticity, avoiding imitation and trends. The studio also designs hotels and residences, controlling every detail from architecture to interior elements. Mora sees his work as shaping the built environment, which humans occupy about 90% of the time. F05's portfolio includes transforming a private disco into a spa and designing a wellness hotel from discarded boulders in a coffee-growing region.
