F-Light Festival Returns to Florence with Light Installations Across the City

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The fourth edition of F-Light, a festival that temporarily illuminates over 15 locations in Florence, has returned. Promoted by the Comune di Firenze and organized by Mus.e, the event features site-specific interventions including video-mapping, projections, and light displays in iconic historic center venues. The theme "sorgente" (source) explores light and water as origins of life. Highlights include Lightness, a video-mapping on Ponte Vecchio until January 8, showcasing artworks from Raphael, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Giacomo Balla, Andy Warhol, and Dan Flavin. Dimora Luminosa projects works from an IED open call onto the Basilica di Santo Spirito, themed around the Arno River, marking the 50th anniversary of the 1966 Florence flood. Tutto Scorre uses Lungarno Acciaiuoli facades to screen Beppe Fantacci's documentary of the flood. The festival also includes educational activities and guided tours.
