Ezia Mitolo's 'Tracce' Exhibition in Bari

Ezia Mitolo's exhibition 'Tracce' at Ars Toto in Bari, curated by Domenico Toto and Claudia Poggi with critical text by Cristina Principale, runs until December 16, 2021. The show features small raw clay sculptures marked by unique impressions from citizens and passersby, which are later dissolved in water to become a 'total work.' The project 'Io, Tu, Noi' collected these 'sculptural traces' between September and November 2021 in Bari's Murat and San Nicola neighborhoods, as part of the fourth edition of 'IsolArt. Città, isolato e arti.' Video and photo documentation by Beppe and Edoardo Gernone, along with tools like a wheelbarrow used by Mitolo to transport clay through Bari's streets, are on display. Mitolo's concept emphasizes achieving authentic relationships with others through dissolution of the self, symbolized by water dissolving dry clay, highlighting community belonging beyond social and cultural differences.
