Eyes on Tomorrow: 39 Young Italian Photographers in 14 Exhibitions Across 11 Cities
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia have launched 'Eyes on Tomorrow', a touring exhibition project that brings 39 emerging Italian photographers under 35 to 11 cities worldwide. From January to June 2022, 14 thematic exhibitions will be hosted at Italian Cultural Institutes in Addis Ababa, Algiers, Barcelona, Mexico City, Dublin, Valletta, Melbourne, Munich, Montevideo, Moscow, and New Delhi. Curated by Ilaria Campioli and Daniele De Luigi, the project draws from the 'Giovane Fotografia Italiana' competition, which annually selects young talents for the Fotografia Europea festival in Reggio Emilia. Themes include Identity, Dreams, Daily Life, Nomadism, Correspondence, Stories, Horizons, Heritage, Secrets, and Illuminations. Artists such as Domenico Camarda, Alisa Martynova, Marina Caneve, and Elena Zottola are among the participants. Mayor Luca Vecchi expressed pride in the international promotion of young Italian artists, while Cecilia Piccioni of the Ministry highlighted the project's role in showcasing Italy's vibrant photographic research abroad.
