Eye Contact: Open Call for Photographers Captures Milan's Art Scene

ZU Studio, a Milan-based photography collective comprising Roberto "Mimo" Visconti, Alberto Dedè, and Bruno Pulici, launches Eye Contact, an evolving exhibition at settantaventidue-extension in Milan from October 23 to 26, 2025. The project features analog portraits shot with a 20×25 large-format camera, printed directly onto photosensitive paper without digital intervention. The exhibition transforms daily: new artists are photographed on-site between 5 and 9 PM, with prints produced in about 15 minutes, creating a dynamic, growing archive. An open call invites artists of all disciplines—painting, music, performance, illustration, sculpture—who live, work, or pass through Milan to participate by booking via email or online form and submitting a brief CV. The initiative is in collaboration with Artribune, which will publish the complete visual census. The goal is to isolate the gaze and offer a fragment of visual truth, with light and grain conveying the silent tension of an encounter. The event takes place at settantaventidue-extension, an independent space that serves as a fluid platform for contemporary artistic research, where a photographic analog lab will operate throughout the four days.
