Experimenter Gallery's Global Programming and Educational Initiatives

Prateek Raja and Priyanka Raja, co-founders of India's Experimenter gallery, reject art as luxury while expanding their international programming. At their Mumbai location, Christopher Kulendran Thomas debuted with the gallery through work examining Sri Lanka's colonial past. Pushpakanthan Pakkiyarajah's rope sculptures, originally shown in one of Experimenter's two Kolkata galleries and now displayed in Mumbai, engage with ecological concerns. Padmini Chettur presented video and dance pieces confronting contemporary disembodiment. In London, the gallery supported Naeem Mohaiemen's Artangel commission, a somber reflection on shortcomings within the US left. The 14th edition of this seminar featured participants from Kunsthalle Basel, Creative Time in New York, and Dakar's RAW Material Company.
