EXILES. Artist Perspectives at Louvre-Lens Explores Exile Through 200+ Works
The Louvre-Lens presents EXILES. Artist perspectives, an exhibition examining the relationship between artistic creation and the experience of exile. Featuring over 200 works, the show spans from Homer and Ovid to contemporary artists such as Nil Yalter, Kimsooja, Yan Pei-Ming, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Barthélémy Toguo, and Marco Godinho. Curated by Dominique de Font-Réaulx, the exhibition is designed as an immersive journey through time and space, linking ancient art with contemporary creativity. It includes objects and stories from partner organizations in the Hauts-de-France coalfield region, bearing witness to local history. The exhibition design is by Maciej Fiszer.
