Exhibition 'Monument to Transformation' at City Gallery Prague explores post-Communist social change

The exhibition 'Monument to Transformation,' curated by Vít Havránek and Zbyněk Baladrán, was held at the Municipal Library of City Gallery Prague from May 28 to August 30, 2009. It explored the social and political transformations in Eastern and Central Europe following the fall of Communism, while also connecting these themes to ongoing developments in countries such as Indonesia, South Korea, Spain, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, and the Philippines. Highlighting a 'post-transformation' era, the exhibition showcased works including David Černý's video of a pink-painted Russian tank, Anri Sala's 'Interview' with his mother, and Vahram Aghasyan's 'Ghost Town' series. Although the arrangement was non-chronological, it sparked discussions about local and global political changes over the past twenty years.
