cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

The RARE project has revitalized a silk mill from the 1920s in Trissino, Vicenza, transforming it into a cultural hub. Since 1951-52, the site, known as ex Filanda Bocchese, has become home to sculptor Arcangelo Sassolino's studio and a contemporary art center curated by Jacopo Ferma, Cristiano Focacci Menchini, and David Melis. The center was inaugurated on May 16, 2025, with the exhibition 'Seta,' which runs until September 28 and showcases women's labor through historical photographs and performances by Gli Impresari. A 90-day residency for artists Nika Batista and Lorraine Hellwig commenced on February 25, 2025, emphasizing environmental awareness. Additionally, an educational department will offer workshops to engage the community and maintain the site's heritage.
