Ex-car repair shop becomes art space in Milan's periphery
In Milan, near the Porto di Mare stop, a former workshop has been transformed into an exhibition space named Carrozzeria delle Rose, after the adjacent still-active car body shop. The group show 'Cambio lavoro' (Job Change) features artists who engage with the site's industrial past. Claudia Petraroli combines tradition with sacred imagery, turning a pedicure basin into a holy water font and hair into a cloth. Emanuele Resce uses car carcasses to create an aluminum totem. Stella Stefani transforms a car door window into a canvas transcribing the dialogue between Ulysses and Calypso. Vincenzo Zancana creates a 'space suit' inspired by scrap textures, with fragments on Scuba worn by the walls to protect the space from fire set by Miriam Montani. The exhibition runs at Carrozzeria delle Rose in Milan.
