Every Child is My Child: 33 Celebrities and Illustrators Unite for Syrian Children

The graphic novel 'Every Child is My Child: True and Magical Stories of Small, Great Happiness' has been released by Salani Editore. The book features 33 stories of happiness written by Italian entertainers—actors, singers, YouTubers—each accompanied by an illustration from a different artist. The project originated from the April 4, 2017 sarin gas attack in Khan Shaykhun, Syria, which killed many children. Actress Anna Foglietta initiated a WhatsApp message that quickly mobilized around 300 artists into the 'Every Child is My Child' movement, which later became an association and now a book. Proceeds from book sales will go to the nonprofit 'Insieme si può fare' to rebuild the Plaster School, an elementary educational and re-educational center for refugee children on the Syria-Turkey border. Contributors include Niccolò Agliardi, Luca Argentero, Claudio Bisio, Paola Cortellesi, Simone Cristicchi, Fedez, J-Ax, Luca Zingaretti, and many others. Illustrators include Allegra Agliardi, Anna Laura Cantone, Ivan Canu, Fabian Negrin, Guido Scarabottolo, Silver, Olimpia Zagnoli, among 33 total. The cover features simple drawings of a girl, a boy, the sun, and a house with a tree, symbolizing childhood innocence.
