Evelyn Hart Returns to Royal Winnipeg Ballet Stage at Age 70
Evelyn Hart, the legendary prima ballerina, returns to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet stage this week for the 2025/26 season finale at Centennial Concert Hall. Now 70, Hart will reprise her role as Winter Woman in James Kudelka's The Four Seasons, a ballet she first performed after retiring in 2006. Hart joined the RWB 50 years ago in 1976. The performance also includes the Winnipeg debut of Cameron Fraser-Monroe's Segatem, which premiered at New York City Center's Fall for Dance Festival in 2024, marking the RWB's first NYC performance since 1979. The triple bill concludes with the world premiere of Dwight Rhoden's Odyssey. Former artistic director André Lewis, recently named artistic director emeritus after 50 years with the company, programmed this final season.
