EVA Studio: Social Architecture from Haiti to Lebanon

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

Established in 2014 in London by Simone Pagani and Andrea Panizzo, EVA – Emergent Vernacular Architecture emphasizes design that prioritizes community needs. Their inaugural significant undertaking occurred in Haiti following an earthquake, where they developed a plaza-amphitheater in Carrefour-Feuilles. Additionally, they created a school campus in Delmas 32 that serves as a hub for the neighborhood. EVA Studio has been acknowledged as a Firm to Watch by Architectural Record and received a nomination for the AR Emerging Architecture Award. In 2018, they enhanced the Chaarani staircase in Tripoli, Lebanon, finishing it in early 2020. Next year, they aim to complete Martissant Park in Haiti and are set to begin work on two parks in Barnet, London, alongside launching a research initiative focused on the Middle Eastern refugee crisis.
