Eva Marisaldi's Futurist-Inspired Installation at Estorick Collection
Eva Marisaldi has created new works for the Estorick Collection in London, the only British museum dedicated to modern Italian art. Known for its Futurist core, the museum invited Marisaldi to engage with the movement's legacy. Curator Pier Paolo Pancotto describes her practice as an attentive observation of reality, translated into free visual compositions. For this exhibition, Marisaldi responds to Fortunato Depero's 1916 sketch 'Guanti plastici umoristi' with 'Three Lines on Depero # 1-3', three glove-like objects covered in bells activated by an electronic device, referencing Futurist musical experiments. She also reimagines Ivo Pannaggi's 1925-26 'Sala per Radioaudizioni per Casa Zampini' with 'Radia', a maquette of four small rooms for radio listening. The installation creates an immersive environment blending vision and sound. The exhibition runs until June 23, 2019 at 39a Canonbury Square, London.
