Eva Frapiccini's Dreams Archive at AuditoriumArte in Rome

Eva Frapiccini (born 1978 in Recanati) presents 'Dreams Archive' at AuditoriumArte in Rome, curated by Anna Cestelli Guidi and produced with AlbumArte. The exhibition condenses over ten years of research into dreams, featuring more than 2,300 dream narratives collected between 2011 and 2022 through the participatory project 'Dreams' Time Capsule' across 13 cities worldwide. The show includes an immersive sound installation 'Dreamscape' with six audio structures organized into macro-areas (water, falling or flying, threshold, shadows or ephemeral presences, teeth, ship or vessel), where volume adjusts to visitor proximity. A photographic series 'H.D.M. – Hommage to Duane Michals' (2022–ongoing) explores dream time through sequential images. Frapiccini's interest in dreams stems from childhood with her illiterate grandmother in the Marche region, who revealed extraordinary sensitivity through dreams. The project began in 2011, ironically taking the Maya prophecy of the end of humanity as a premise, imagining an alien discovering human dreams. The artist emphasizes restitution of collected dreams, which began in 2022 with the video installation 'Dust of Dreams' and continued in 2023 with the opening of the sound archive. The exhibition runs at AuditoriumArte in Rome.
