Eva & Franco Mattes Win 77th Premio Michetti with AI Video

The 77th Premio Michetti has been unanimously awarded to the artistic duo Eva & Franco Mattes for their AI-generated video "Are You Still There?" (2025). The work critically explores digital identity, surveillance, and power dynamics in the contemporary tech ecosystem. The jury, chaired by Cristiana Perrella, praised the duo's ability to combine artistic experimentation, critical reflection, and innovation. A special mention was given to Danilo Correale for "Equivalent Units" (2017), an interdisciplinary work analyzing transformations of labor and contemporary economies through video, installations, and participatory practices. The award ceremony inaugurated COSMOVISIONS, the exhibition of the 77th edition of the Premio Michetti, curated by Nicolas Bourriaud and Massimiliano Scuderi. The show runs from July 26 to September 13, 2026, at the Museo Michetti (MuMi) in Francavilla al Mare, featuring 20 Italian and international artists with 48 works dedicated to the relationship between humans, artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital technologies.
