Eunhee Lee awarded 2023 Han Nefkens Foundation-LOOP Barcelona Video Art Production Grant

Eunhee Lee, a video artist from South Korea, has been awarded the 2023 Han Nefkens Foundation – LOOP Barcelona Video Art Production Grant, in collaboration with Fundació Joan Miró. This grant, valued at $15,000, is designated for the development of a new video project over a period of nine months. Lee's insightful reflections on modern life in digital contexts and her lyrical exploration of the dynamics between humans and machines garnered commendations from the jury. Once finalized, the artwork will be part of a long-term loan to the Han Nefkens Foundation for display at Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, before being showcased at various locations including MoCA Taipei and ILHAM in Kuala Lumpur. Established in 2018, this grant aims to encourage contemporary video art among Asian artists living in Asia. Previous awardees include Ekin Kee Charles (2022), Timoteus Anggawan Kusno (2021), and Hsu Che-Yu (2020). The 2023 jury was led by Han Nefkens and featured members such as Emilio Alvarez (Founder of LOOP Barcelona) and Marko Daniel (Director of Fundació Joan Miró).
