Eugenio Valdés Figueroa named director of Miami's Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation

The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation in Miami has appointed Cuban-born curator Eugenio Valdés Figueroa as its new director and chief curator. Valdés Figueroa previously served as art and education director for Casa Daros, Daros-Latinamerica in Rio de Janeiro, where he collaborated with artists such as Ernesto Neto, Julio Le Parc, Oscar Muñoz, Juan Manuel Echavarría, and Vik Muniz. His extensive curatorial background includes co-curating the Havana Biennial from 1990 to 1997 and contributing to international biennials in Dakar, Tirana, Istanbul, and Johannesburg. A curator and art critic, he brings a wealth of experience to the Miami institution.
