Eugenio Tibaldi Wins 20th Ermanno Casoli Prize with Marshy Installation
Eugenio Tibaldi, born in Alba in 1977, has been awarded the 20th Premio Ermanno Casoli for his installation titled Marshy (2022), now part of Elica's collection in Castelfidardo (AN). This artwork features a circular mirror of water, with pathways connecting to themes of nature, history, and industry, and includes over 200 bird species crafted from Elica's metal remnants. Tibaldi engaged 3,200 employees in the species selection process and worked alongside musician Andrea Naspi, who provided an accordion soundtrack of bird songs. Elica's president, Francesco Casoli, emphasized the award's significance in fostering cultural innovation, while Smarrelli described Marshy as a symbol of transformation and community.
