Eugenio Tibaldi's Seconda Chance at Museo Ettore Fico in Turin

exhibition · 2026-05-05

At the Museo Ettore Fico (MEF) in Turin, two exhibitions run concurrently until January 29, 2016. On the ground floor, part of collector Guido Bertero's vast vintage photography collection is displayed: over 250 neorealist shots spanning from the 1930s to 1968, divided into ten chapters, depicting a changing Italy. This is the first of three shows the museum dedicates to the collection. Upstairs, in the large, naturally lit hall, Eugenio Tibaldi (born 1977 in Alba) presents the site-specific installation "Seconda Chance," curated by Andrea Busto. The work pays homage to the Barriera di Milano neighborhood, which has recently gained attention thanks to artist Alessandro Bulgini and the "Opera viva" billboard series curated by Christian Caliandro in collaboration with the Flashback fair. Tibaldi's anti-monumental construction uses Innocenti tubes that never touch walls or floors—cushioned by chairs, shoes, mirrors, and books—merging social engagement with aesthetic effectiveness. A fountain made from recycled materials on the museum terrace completes the installation.
