Etna rêverie: Artist Residency on Mount Etna's Slopes

The Etna rêverie residency, promoted by the Primaterra winery, invites five artists to create site-specific works on the slopes of Mount Etna from August 1 to 30. Located in Contrada Sciaranuova, Passopisciaro, the residency challenges artists to engage with winemaking and the volcanic landscape. Participants include canecapovolto, Alessio de Girolamo, Giuseppe Lana, Filippo Leonardi, and Loredana Longo, most of whom are Sicilian. Curator Daniele Perra stated that the artists will confront their origins and memories, studying vineyard characteristics, analyzing vine rows, and understanding landscape transformations from eruptions. The works will be inaugurated on August 13 with a wine pairing by sommelier Camillo Privitera. A public meeting with artists occurs on August 6. The installations are open to visitors from August 14 to 30.
