Ethical Emotion Regulation Framework for Agentic AI Inspired by Toegye Yi Hwang

publication · 2026-05-01

A study has introduced a framework for ethical emotion regulation in agentic AI systems, inspired by the moral-emotional philosophy of Toegye Yi Hwang, a Korean Neo-Confucian scholar. Named the Ethical Emotion Feedback System (EEFS), this framework consists of five stages that correspond with agentic cycles, aiming to tackle issues related to managing moral-emotional processes in self-directed learning settings. Additionally, the paper presents an EEFS Evaluation Instrument for the thorough evaluation of moral-emotional alignment. This research is available on arXiv in the Computer Science > Computers and Society category.
