Eternal Memories: A Docu-Game Debuts at BIAF 2022 in Florence
The 1966 Arno flood and the volunteer mobilization of the 'angeli del fango' (mud angels) form the basis of Eternal Memories, a 2D side-scrolling docu-game debuting at the 2022 edition of BIAF – Biennale Internazionale dell'Antiquariato di Firenze. The game was developed by Golem Multimedia in collaboration with TuoMuseo and with support from Consultinvest. It is available for free download on major app platforms in Italian and English. Set during the flood, the narrative begins and ends in the 17th-century Palazzo Corsini, which will host around 80 galleries at BIAF. The game features original illustrations of Florence's historic center and archival footage from Teche Rai. BIAF 2022 runs from September 24 to October 2, with previews on September 22 and 23. The fair, under Secretary General Fabrizio Moretti since 2014, is again part of the Florence Art Week. Highlights include an exhibition of Henry Moore sculptures in Piazza della Signoria curated by Sergio Risaliti, and an immersive Metaverse space at Palazzo Corsini by innovation partner EY, showcasing award-winning artworks from previous BIAF editions. The architectural design for the fair is by Matteo Corvino.
