Estudios Libres opens call for third edition at MAC Chile
The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) of the Universidad de Chile has launched an open call for the third edition of its free educational program Estudios Libres, running from July to December 2026. Aimed at individuals without formal training in visual arts, the program will accept 20 participants for 20 Saturday sessions (10:30–13:30). The curriculum includes four practical workshops—Vanguardia, política y enseñanza artística (Paulina González), Pintura experimental (Héctor León), Tallar, grabar, compartir (Aclicio Peralta), and Arte y medialidad (Daniel Cruz and Pablo Madariaga)—plus eight single-session “Jornadas aplicadas” covering topics from pre-Columbian textiles to curatorship, conservation, and cultural management. Applicants must be over 18, reside in the Región Metropolitana, have no formal arts education, and commit to full attendance. The form opens May 26 and closes June 7, 2026. The program, first held in 2024, seeks to build learning communities around contemporary art and museum practices, awarding a certificate of participation.
