Esther Stocker transforms Rome metro station with site-specific installation

On July 1, 2024, the Vittorio Emanuele station of Rome's Metro A reopened following two months of renovations. It now showcases Esther Stocker's artwork "Prospettiva comune," which incorporates 8,000 meters of black adhesive tape against a white backdrop. This project is a partnership between ATAC and the MAXXI Museum, contributing to the exhibition "Ambienti 1956-2010. Environments by women artists II," curated by Andrea Lissoni, Marina Pugliese, and Francesco Stocchi, which is on display at MAXXI until October 20, 2024. Featuring 19 immersive pieces by female artists, the exhibition has drawn over 50,000 attendees, making it the most popular at MAXXI. The station's installation will be available until December 2024.
