Esther III Alternative Art Fair Returns to New York Estonian House for Final Edition During Frieze Week 2026

festival-fair · 2026-05-06

From May 12th to 16th, 2026, the historic New York Estonian House will host Esther III, the final edition of the alternative art fair created by Margot Samel and Olga Temnikova. Coinciding with Frieze New York 2026, this fair offers a more experimental and relaxed alternative to conventional art fairs, showcasing 22 galleries from 10 different cities. The free public event will feature site-specific installations, performances, and artist-led projects throughout the venue's cozy spaces. Notable highlights include chairchairchair, a seating project by Houston Parke and Isaac Haseltine made from discarded New York materials, and Kris Lemsalu’s Sugarlife. The fair opens with a ticketed dinner featuring traditional Estonian dishes. Participating galleries include Margot Samel, Temnikova & Kasela, and others from cities like London and Shanghai.
