ESPERIENZE Returns: One-Night Art Experiences at The Hoxton Rome

After a two-year hiatus, the ESPERIENZE format resumes at The Hoxton Rome's Appartamento. Curated by Marco Bassan, the project invites an artist and a guest to create a one-night-only immersive experience rather than a traditional exhibition. The first edition featured Leonardo Magrelli (b. 1989, Rome) with Giorgio Merlani: visitors selected a photo from Magrelli's personal archive, then destroyed it with a paintball gun in a white-covered room. The event sold out in half a day. Bassan explains the format originated five years ago at Palazzo Taverna, continuing Graziella Leonardi's one-night exhibition tradition. The concept prioritizes focused attention in a short timeframe, with artists free to realize a desire without mediation. Past participants include a volcanologist, a peacock invited by Ilaria Manca, and a deceased poet hosted by critic Cortellessa. Namsal Siedlecki (b. 1986, Greenfield, USA) created a nanometric sculpture with a nanotechnology research center. Future artists in the new cycle include Jacopo Rinaldi, Valerio D'Angelo, and Sveva Angeletti. Events occur one Monday per month by reservation, announced via the website and newsletter. The project is part of Art x Society, which fosters cross-disciplinary contamination.
