Escher's Art Meets Science in Major Milan Exhibition at Mudec

The Mudec in Milan will host 'M.C. Escher. Tra arte e scienza' from September 25, 2025, to February 8, 2026, marking the first major Escher exhibition in Milan in a decade. Curated by Claudio Bartocci, Paolo Branca, and Claudio Salsi, the show features 90 works including engravings, watercolors, woodcuts, and lithographs, alongside about 40 Islamic artifacts that influenced Escher's exploration of logic, mathematics, and optical effects. A highlight is an Infinity Room curated by Maurits srl, a kaleidoscopic space with high-definition projections and mirrored walls evoking Escher's masterpieces. Concurrently, an exhibition at Castello Conti Acquaviva d'Aragona in Conversano runs until September 28, 2025, with 80 works. Another show with over 150 pieces, including iconic works like 'Hand with Reflecting Sphere,' 'Day and Night,' and 'House of Stairs,' will open in autumn at Centro San Gaetano in Padua. A recent exhibition at Palazzo Mazzetti in Asti attracted over 62,000 visitors before closing in May 2025.
