ESC 2035 Chapter II: Repetition and Routine at At SUNSET, The Hague

The second chapter of ESC 2035, titled 'We kept going.', opens at At SUNSET in Scheveningen, The Hague, in a former girls' school. The exhibition, part of a trilogy curated by nomadic platform 0—1 (founded 2017), explores persistence, pressure, and systems that continue beyond reason. This chapter focuses on repetition as a dominant condition, featuring seven artists working across installation, sound, film, and kinetic media. The works examine routines that feel inherited rather than chosen, with the school's institutional architecture—classrooms and corridors—reinforcing themes of structure and repetition. The first chapter, '… the world paused.', dealt with absence and suspension. 'We kept going.' shifts to continuity as subject. The exhibition is co-presented with At SUNSET, run by Marius Lut and Rob Knijn. ESC is an ongoing format developed by 0—1 since 2020, addressing technology, natural forces, and human behavior as interconnected unstable environments.
