Erwan Sene's Suitcase Sculptures Question Security and Legality at Bonny Poon

Erwan Sene's exhibition 'Checked or four attacks that will never happen' at Bonny Poon / Conditions in Toronto presents four 1970s Delsey suitcases linked by exposed cables, each half-cast in industrial ABS polycarbonate and half-hollowed out to contain infrasound antennas and leather high-heeled shoes from the 1960s brand François Villon. The work operates as a legal problem: it complies with ICAO regulations but its assembly raises concerns. The implied route CDG–Toronto references Paul Andreu's Charles de Gaulle Airport and Marshall McLuhan's theories.
